The new series of the publisher Fernando Folini. Object-books, in square format (21x21 cm). They look like a double book, in Italian and English, each one dedicated to a gastronomic theme, developed by a master-chef. All the arts: because in every book different arts contribute to create the ideal atmosphere which develops the subject. First of all literature, with texts by great writers and well-known journalists. And the visual arts, because each volume includes an original artwork, ad hoc conceived by an acclaimed artist. (The artwork can be framed) The gastronomic theme is developed through a few recipes. They work as a starting point to express the personal view of the chef about the theme; the reasons lying behind the techniques are analysed, "the tricks of the trade" are told with simplicity so as to allow "experienced amateurs" to reproduce them. For every recipe a specific wine is recommended. Great importance has been given to the graphic and formal aspect of the series, thus achieving a delicate balance between a traditional kind of paper and modern clear graphic solutions. The first volume (White Truffle Utopia) and the second volume (The squaring of the egg) of the series are by Carlo Cracco. Other gastronomic themes will follow: The Wine, The Caviar, The Olive Oil, The Salame, The Rice, The Mushrooms
